Debra Branse, Esq.

Senior Counsel

Debra Branse completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.  She was admitted to the California State Bar in January of 1995.

During her first eight years of practice, Debra worked at several distinguished law firms where she handled a broad variety of cases involving complex civil litigation and insurance coverage disputes for both property and liability insurance companies and corporate clients.  She later gained first-hand experience of an insurance company while working as senior staff counsel at a major insurance carrier.  Her years of experience at the insurance company led to her senior counsel position at another prominent law firm in the Bay Area where she primarily handled and monitored the defense of that same carrier's  cases.

Debra joined Hirsch, Closson, McMillan & Schroeder's Walnut Creek office as senior counsel in 2007.  Debra quickly gained additional experience with first party insurance by defending property carriers in insurance coverage disputes. Debra second-chaired a contentious policy appraisal initiated by one of the firm's insurer clients to resolve a disputed fire loss.

Debra has also been providing coverage advice to one of the firm's corporate clients to assist it in pursuing its additional insurers for coverage and defense in various product liability cases.
